A year of reflection!

Psalm 19:14 May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.

In reflecting of the year that is about to leave and the year we are about to enter I must look to where the meditation of my heart has been. Has it been pleasing in the sight of God? Or has it been year I can glean from and change some things in the new? I think it has been a bit of both for me, but one thing I must attain and that is spending more time at the foot of the cross.

As it is written - Jesus said; (Luke 9:23) Then he said to them all: “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. So often I am reminded of the times past when I labored in prayer broken before the Father, laying prostrate before Him with much petition for others and myself. This morning I have decided to get back to that place and to begin before 2009 starts. It a place where His Presence is found, and a place where I long to be. So this morning as the household is still asleep I will go to prayer for all and end this year with devotion to my Lord and Savior Jesus. May we all find a place of prayer and meditation for it is health to our bones, and it can help our spirit rise above every situation.

Words of wisdom:

Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

Life’s little blessings~

Hope No Comments »

Psalm 1:1-3 Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.

Often times we miss life’s little blessings when we are so busy wrapped up in the day to day tasks that try to overtake us. Today I want to share a story of blessing, because I am so reminded of this sweet savoring moment. “During the hustle and bustle of this season when funds are low one would love to have some of the sweet delicacies that are in the market place. Just last night while purchasing vegetables for some homemade stew I really had a taste for yummy frozen sweet rolls. However, while shopping I remembered to refrain and purchase only what I came there for, frozen veggies amongst just a few other items. Upon my arrival at home, low and behold a bag of goodies left hanging on our back door. What was this? Who is it from? Was it possibly from a neighbor? A friend at church or maybe a co-worker? As I tried to call around to see who might have left this bag of sweet rolls, sweet bread and wonderful apple roll bread I was reminded of life’s little blessings that sometimes they need to be just that! A gift from heaven! The Lord knows what we have need of or even what we desire. I was so reminded of the manna from heaven stories of old. What it must have been like for those who sojourned in the wilderness and sweet food provided each morning.

Take delight today in His laws and meditate on them, because this will help you to see life’s little blessings in a new wonderful way.

Thankfulness is established in the heart of gratitude.

May we all see life’s little blessings in the years ahead as we sojourn with the Lord our Savior and Risen King!

And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer. So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.” (Revelation 12:7-11)

As children of the Most High God, we are in a battle with Satan every day. This is nothing new, as the Word of God tells us.Our enemy is always looking for a way to kill, steal and destroy.

Praise God that we have an advocate, Jesus Christ, who is totally on our side. As the Devil wages his war, Jesus is pleading our case to the Father. Find hope in His promise that the battle is not ours, but the Lord’s.

When you think back over your life, remember the times that God brought you through what seemed like impossible situations. Remember the unexpected blessings. Remember the joy of victory.

We overcome by the Blood of the Lamb and the Word of our testimony. Who have you told what Jesus brought you through? If you’ve made a prayer request on PrayerSpa and God answered in a mighty way, please let us know by making a comment to this post. We want to hear from you and your brothers and sisters will be strengthened and encouraged by your testimony.

Teach me your ways!

Petitions, Uncategorized No Comments »

Psalm 86:11-13 “Teach me your way, O LORD, and I will walk in your truth; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name. I will praise you, O Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify your name forever. For great is your love toward me; you have delivered me from the depths of the grave.”

You’ve prepared a wonderful dinner for a special guest only to find out the guest had forgotten the time of the invitation. They did not call nor did they come, and you are left bewildered, wondering, second guessing!

Was it me?

Do they care?

Did they remember?

Should I call?
All too often we are leaving our love relationship with God in the same broken pieces.

God is wondering do they care!

He wonders was it Him!

He even wonders should He call!

He wonders if we remember Him at all!

We need to learn the art of intimately embracing Him, praising Him and just spending time in His presence.

Lord, help us to not be so distracted with the cares of the day, even when times of preparation are so great. Help me to not be consumed  with the daily mundane tasks, but help me to learn to spend time with you. Teach me you ways Oh Lord, that I might love You and take delight in You. Amen!

There’s a Remedy for Your Pain

Hope, Petitions No Comments »

When you’re sick, chances are you may go to the doctor or take medicine. But what do you do when life hurts? When life is painful, there is a remedy:

Balm

Babylon will suddenly fall and be broken. Wail over her! Get balm for her pain; perhaps she can be healed. (Jeremiah 51:8)

Prayer

The troubles of my heart have multiplied;free me from my anguish. Look upon my affliction and my distress and take away all my sins. (Psalm 25:17-18)

God’s Deliverance

But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him. (Acts 2:24)

Heaven

He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. (Revelation 21:4)

Never forget that our God is the Great Physician. He heals the body, heart, mind and soul. Go to Him for whatever ails you. Jehovah is the God who heals!

Anchor for the soul!

Hope, Petitions No Comments »

Hebrews 6:19  We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain,

In times of uncertainty and indecision we have one thing as a believer in Jesus Christ, He is the anchor for the soul… This is the hope that gives us assurance, confidence and security. We should not look to the world and its ways, but look to the anchor that holds us secure and fastened. This eternal hope is not fleeting, but it endures to the end. Whatever you may be facing today, know this, the hope in Christ will give you the strength to endure.

Rest assured, He will not leave you or forsake you. So when things look dismal, cry out to the Lord, He is your confidence and He is trustworthy.
David said; bless the Lord Oh my soul and all that is within me, bless His Holy Name. Are you blessing Him today? Bless Him no matter it looks or seems like. Bless Him in the joy, the pain, the trial, He is the rest for your soul.

Bless Him!
